SUNDAY and a little bit of France

Are you serious??  It’s been in the high 20’s today with matching humidity.  Who would’ve thought we’d be having these warm temps in the middle of March?  I’m not complaining mind you and as I suggested on Friday, Lusi brought a bit of rain and wind to our region and that was that.  All a bit boring really (a bit like this post).

Here’s some thoughts on eating in France.   The amount of bread Europeans eat with their meals is simply astounding.  We go on and on about eating carbs, how we shouldn’t be eating this carb and that carb and no you musn’t eat after 7 pm etc, etc and the rules of eating go on and on.  Well, after doing a bit of travelling, I’ve decided that we should eat anything we want BUT in moderation.  I didn’t see one fat French woman but this is how they eat and perhaps the reason why we didn’t see any largies.  They have breakfast consisting of croissants, fruit, meat, eggs, coffee.  Their lunch is usually a two hour affair with dessert, alcohol and loads of bread again.  They eat slowly and they don’t guts their food down like we do.  They appreciate it.  For dinner, they have a small meal usually preceeded by glaze (ice cream) a couple of wines about 5pm and they normally eat dinner around 8pm.  Not a chunky bum in sight and all so stylish.  Honestly, they hoover down cheeses, wines, bread, pastas and every other naughty thing you could put in your mouth and they just look fabulous!  I do that here and the bathroom scales rocket up to the nearest round number overnight.                                                                                                        P1030309  Classic French market.  Everything you could ever want.

FRIDAY

Thank God it’s Friday is all I have to say.  Well I do have a little bit more to say.

The garden’s being watered as I type, the sky is clouding over in readiness for the storm.  Although I somehow suspect we’re not going to get much of it.  Here in the Bay (and no, I’m not telling you which Bay) we often miss the scungy weather.  What they predict as a storm normally turns out to be a bit of rain and wind then it’s gone as quick as it came.  Ahhhhh bliss.

Here’s a fun site for adults and kids.  It’s called icon scrabble.  http://iconscrabble.com/img/dwqIP.png

Maybe I’ll write more tomorrow but in the meantime, have a GREAT weekend peeps.
